Neuromas are a swollen, benign mass of nerves that occurs between the third and fourth metatarsal. They are caused by flesh rubbing against each other and disturbing the nerves. If you have improperly fitted shoes or an irregular bone structure this can cause the condition.
Morton’s neuroma is similar to a neuroma, but is located around the nerve that leads to the toes. It usually develops between the third and fourth metatarsal in response to irritation, such as that caused by wearing heels or ill-fitting shoes, or from trauma.
