Dr. Kyle Duncan grew up in Washington state. He attended Whitworth University where he was a starting cornerback on the Football team and an all-conference selection in Track and Field. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Following college he spent several years as s member of the National Ski Patrol, working winters at a local mountain.
Dr. Duncan received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of the Pi Delta Honor Society and was actively involved with the profession at the national level, serving as the President of the American Podiatric Medical Students Association. This position required him to work alongside leaders in the profession in efforts to improve education and residency training for his fellow students.
He completed his three-year surgical residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. During residency he served as the Chief Resident and was involved in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery with special interests in traumatic injuries and reconstructive surgery. He is also extensively trained in conservative and surgical management of diabetic wounds, infections, and limb salvage. He has authored several publications in the area of foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, both in scientific journals and orthopedic textbooks. Dr. Duncan has continued his interests in research by volunteering to peer-review articles for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Duncan believes that educating his patients is the key to their success. He believes that informed patients, more often than not, have better outcomes as they are more actively involved in their care and have a better understanding of their treatment goals.
In his free time, Dr. Duncan enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Outside of work you may be able to find him playing in local flag football leagues or at a local gym playing pick up basketball games.
